AJ Shangarjan (born on April 7) is a Sri Lankan Tamil music composer, music producer, sound designer, sound engineer, and animator. Originally from Sri Lanka, he currently resides in Washington D.C., USA. He holds Sri Lankan nationality and Tamil ethnicity, speaking Tamil and English fluently. AJ studied at Vivekananda College of Technology before pursuing higher education at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. He is also completing a Higher National Diploma in Music – Pearson BTEC – specializing in Sound Production & Audio Engineering at Pearlbay Institute. He is engaged and actively shares his musical journey on Instagram as @ajshangarjan and on YouTube at @AJShangarjan.
AJ is the founder and lead musician of Black Shader, a music initiative showcasing original compositions and collaborations. He also works as a music composer at Ajay’s Melodies and serves as a video edit team member for the IEEE Student Branch of Rajarata University. His skill set spans composing, producing, sound designing, mixing, mastering, and animating visuals for music videos. His style often blends cinematic scoring with modern electronic production, earning him recognition in Sri Lanka’s independent music scene.
