Devil’s Double: Next Level is the fourth instalment in the Dhilluku Dhuddu horror-comedy franchise, directed by S. Prem Anand and produced by The Show People and Niharika Entertainment. The film stars Santhanam as Krishnamoorty “Kissa,” a cynical YouTube film critic who becomes ensnared in a supernatural world after attending a mysterious film screening.
The ensemble cast includes Selvaraghavan as the vengeful filmmaker, Hitchcock Iruthayaraj, Gautham Vasudev Menon as Inspector Raghavan, and Geethika Tiwary in dual roles as Kissa’s girlfriend, Aasai Harshini and the vengeful spirit Jessica. Supporting roles are portrayed by Yashika Aannand, Kasthuri Shankar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Rajendran, Lollu Sabha Maaran, and Redin Kingsley.
The film features music composed by OfRo, with singles like “Kissa 47” and “Cinemakaran” contributing to its satirical tone. Notably, “Kissa 47” sparked controversy due to the unauthorised use of the devotional song “Srinivasa Govinda,” leading to legal action from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
Released theatrically on May 16, 2025, Devil’s Double: Next Level received mixed reviews. While some praised its meta-commentary on film criticism and Tamil cinema tropes, others criticised its reliance on outdated humour. The film grossed ₹14.95 crore at the box office, falling short of its ₹20 crore budget.
