Bhairavam is an upcoming Telugu action-drama directed by Vijay Kanakamedala, renowned for his work on Naandhi. The film features a compelling narrative centred around three friends—Seenu, Gajapathi, and Varada—whose bond is tested amidst challenges linked to the sacred Varahi temple. This storyline is adapted from the Tamil hit Garudan (2024), known for its gripping portrayal of friendship and faith.
The film marks the Telugu debut of Aditi Shankar, daughter of acclaimed filmmaker Shankar, portraying the character Vennela. The ensemble cast includes Anandhi, Divya Pillai, Ajay, Sharath Lohitashwa, Sandeep Raj, Vennela Kishore, Jayasudha, and Sampath Raj, each bringing depth to the narrative.
Produced by KK Radhamohan under Sri Sathya Sai Arts and presented by Dr. Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios, Bhairavam boasts a talented crew. Sricharan Pakala composes the music, Hari K Vedantam handles cinematography, and Chota K Prasad is in charge of editing. The film’s dialogues are penned by Satyarshi and Thoom Venkat, with lyrics by Bhaskara Bhatla and Kasarla Shyam.
The digital and satellite rights have been acquired by Zee Network for ₹32 crore, with the film set to stream on ZEE5 in late June 2025, followed by a television premiere on Zee Telugu.
However, the film has encountered controversy due to resurfaced social media posts by director Vijay Kanakamedala from 2011, which mocked prominent Telugu cinema figures. This has led to calls for a boycott from fans of the Mega Family, potentially impacting the film’s reception.
